To enhance the learning – teaching experience and create an effective and friendly explanation of physical concepts, the department of physics has organised following activities for the science students of this college.

  1. Field Trip:

In order to make learning of electronic subject more interesting and interactive, the visit to Diebold Systems Private Ltd.- an ATM manufacturing unit at Tivim Industrial estate Karaswada, Mapusa, Goa, was organised for the second year B.Sc. students on 9th Aug.2016. The engineers and technicians of the Diebold Systems demonstrated various processes of manufacturing of ATM unit and this helped the students in understanding some of the concepts of electronics subject. 68 students of second year B.Sc. class participated in the field visit.

  2. Innovative Garland design:

To familiarise the basic concepts of series and parallel circuit connections in Electricity and Electronics, garland completion was organised for the science students of this college on 5th Aug.2016. Stress was given for the maximum use of local and organic material for preparing the garlands. The participants had to design and make the garland based on any complex imaginary electrical circuit diagram. The judging criteria were based on the correct correlation of the garland design with the circuit diagram submitted by the participant.
The results of the completion are as follows:

First Place – Shivani Saewant & Sanam Vaiganker, S.Y. B.Sc.

Second place – Mahima Naik Darshan Sawant , F.Y. B.Sc.

Third Place – Shivani Phadte & Muskan Phadte, F.Y. B.Sc.

Conciliation Prizes – Nehal Parsekar & Aniket Malwankar, F.Y. B.Sc.
    Saish S. Plani & Harshada V. Parab ,F.Y. B.Sc.

  3. Photography contest:

To understand the physical concepts of light and its application using various phenomena produced by the light, the photography competition was organised for the science students of this college on 7th Aug.2016. The theme of the completion was “Physics of light”. The participants compulsorily have to submit a write up, explaining the phenomenon observed while capturing the photograph.

    First Place – Charant S. Naik, S.Y. B.Sc.

    Second place – Calvin D’Lima Velho, S.Y. B.Sc.

    Third Place – Stacy A. Remedios, S.Y. B.Sc.

    Fourth Place – Sahil S. Gauns F.Y. B.Sc.

Conciliation Prizes – Abigail V. Rodrigues, Nimesha N. Fernandes, Vinay V. Gauns and Siya S. Naik all from S.Y. B.Sc.
